(Principal: Dr Claudia Berner)

The new Minhang campus is the HQ of the school, with the majority of its pupils. Phase 1 and 2 construction has been completed. Phase 3 is currently in the planning process.

Academics

Academics are based on the Singapore Primary Curriculum leading to the iPSLE, and the IB Middle Years Programme and IB Diploma Programme, the school intends to change to IGCSE Programme by 2012.

The school has a reputation among the expatriate parents as a place where children of little or no English Language ability could achieve proficiency within 2 years. The Intensive English Programme of the school remains one of its strongest selling points. This IEP( Intensive English Programme) is only given in primary years.

The major academic subjects (English, Maths, Science, etc.) are taught in English. Some of the Aesthetics subjects (Music, Art, etc.) are taught in Chinese.

The academic year normally begins in late August or early September, and ends on the last Friday of June every year.

Classes

Classes for primary, secondary and high schools typically have around 20 students per class. There are around 5 classes for each primary grade, However the number of classes decrease in secondary grade. e.g., In 2008/2009 academic year, there were 5 classes for S2. In the new academic year 2009/2010, there are only 3 classes for S3.

Classes for Pre-school and kindergarten can range from 12 to 18 children depending on which grade.

The majority of the students in the school do not use English as their first or native language (evident from the composition). Primary students with little or no knowledge or ability in the English Language will be placed in the school's Intensive English Programme (IEP) classes. (See below for more details)
